In Romania, VAEX has been working with a number of loyal customers and suppliers for years. Without them, our work simply wouldn’t be possible. That’s why we felt it was high time to put these special relationships in the spotlight. Our manager Carmen and sales colleague Cecilia traveled to personally thank three partners with a special gift. It was a wonderful moment to reflect together on the journey we’ve taken so far and to look ahead to the future.
Veres Agro has become an indispensable supplier of piglets for VAEX Romania. Since December 2019, they have delivered more than 300,000 piglets—an impressive number that forms the foundation for a long-lasting partnership.
With a sow farm of 4,000 sows and 10,000 slaughter pigs, complemented by 2,000 hectares of farmland, they run a true family business. It feels familiar and pleasant to work with such entrepreneurs.
During a shared dinner, Carmen presented a handmade plate as a token of appreciation. “It’s truly special to work with a family business like Veres Agro,” Carmen says. “They are reliable and always think along with us. That’s what makes the partnership so valuable.”
Kati and the Pall family have been loyal customers since the very beginning of VAEX Romania. The collaboration started with supplying slaughter pigs for their slaughterhouse, but the company has grown significantly since then. They now also have a sow farm and rearing facilities, and VAEX supplies both piglets and slaughter pigs. We even found common ground in transport: through VAEX The Truck Traders, they purchased a used livestock truck.
“What binds us is the long term,” says Cecilia. “We’ve been working together for over fifteen years, and that’s only possible when there’s trust on both sides. We know each other inside and out.”
A relationship that has existed since 2008-2009 and has only grown stronger over the years—a textbook example of mutual trust.
Some customers are not only valuable for business but also hold a special place in your heart. That’s certainly true for Carmen when it comes to Horatiu and Vasile, the entrepreneurs behind Knitwear, Adem Prod, and Ultra Suin. This was, in fact, the very first Romanian company to which she sold piglets.
Carmen laughs as she recalls: “We were supposed to fly together from Budapest to the Netherlands. I was on time for the flight, but Horatiu and Vasile missed theirs. Instead of giving up, they got in the car and drove all the way to the Netherlands. They still arrived in time to load the piglets and then drove straight back to Romania. I flew back alone. It’s a memory I’ll never forget—it shows just how driven and dedicated they are.”
These three examples show just how important sustainable relationships are in our sector. Trust, loyalty, and mutual respect are the foundation of successful collaboration. At VAEX, we are proud of our partners in Romania and look forward to building great results together for many years to come.
