Anhoka is an EU approved resting station for piglets, pigs, sows, or calves. Anhoka is equipped with facilities for food, water, and veterinary care if needed. In the rest barn, temperature and humidity levels can be controlled to protect the animals from extreme weather conditions. Additionally, the rest barn is fitted with newly designed components, so that the animals can rest separately per truck. The barn can accommodate around 3,000 piglets at the same time.

The site features several amenities such as a washing area for cleaning and disinfecting livestock trucks and a weighbridge. There is also an office with a residential house and canteen, where drivers can use the necessary sanitary facilities. There is ample parking space for trucks.

The rest barn is located in Kiskorpad, a small village about 10 kilometers west of Kaposvar, in the south of Hungary. Logistically, it is an excellent position for transports to the southern Balkan countries and countries like Romania, where many piglets are transported from Western Europe.

Long journeys to countries in Eastern Europe

VAEX makes many long journeys to countries in Eastern Europe. That is why the company decided a few years ago to establish its own resting station in the south of Hungary. In September 2009, Anhoka Kft. was put into operation and by the end of 2014, the rest barn was completely renovated.

Given the current transport regulations, it is necessary for long-distance transports from Western to Eastern Europe that last more than a day to allow animals to rest during the journey. Anhoka is an excellent location for this purpose, not only because of its location but also due to its facilities. This way, VAEX can guarantee the quality and health of the animals with its own transport. Besides our own transport, all transporters are welcome at Anhoka to use the facilities.
